The build project timeline
May 2006 Walls stripped Ground floor, floors lifted.This revealed a lack of insulation, blinding, membranes and support for the floors, as well as standing water. We removed all ground floor material and concreted in new, insulated, slabs with waterproofing layers.
June 2006 Forming of structural openings and re-pointing harling, removal of unstable chimney stack, preparation for structural steelwork, restoration of guttering and downpipes and further strip out.
July 2006 Chimney heads re-capped in concrete and other roofing repair work, other new floors cast and structural steel beams lifted into position, first floor joisting work begins.
August 2006 Studwork partitioning, valley rafter re-construction, floor insulation and laying, beginning of electrical first fix, external works including new field drains. Also the treatment of what was left of the roof structure against wet/dry rot and woodworm for good measure. September 2006 Staircase wall ruled unstable so demolition of wall, re-construct stair and lower first floor landing, through floor sound insulation, some plumbers first fix.
November 2006-November 2007 A complete refit of the building, upgrading insulation, sound proofing, heating and hot water services replacement of porch building, external works including the removal of some 30 tree's which were milled and used on the site.
